To Breathe Fresh Air

“You know, you really don’t have to.” I tugged but he wouldn’t let go of my hand. At first it was like a game of tug-of-war, but now, he just pulled me as if I’m not making any resistance. “I won’t tell mom. I promise.”

He finally stopped walking. Unluckily, we’re already in front his Audi everyone loves. “Get in.”

“We’re riding that?!” I don’t mean to imply anything because hey, it’s an Audi and I don’t get to ride that every day. The fact that it’s closed that scares me. He just stared at me still annoyed. Who wouldn’t when mom, who is the principal of this school, told him to bring me home as punishment?

“That is an Audi,” he replied nonchalantly.

I was able to pull my hand and cross my arms. I agree that he’s handsome and all, but with that arrogance and fucking ego, he won’t pass for my standards. “I am aware Mr. Cervantes.”

She's Stupid and Won't Get It

She leaned back, her spine pressed on the wooden cabinet, arms crossed on her chest and grumbled. It has not been long since James dropped her home. But it was not for that reason that her mood went sour. Her whole day was of bliss not until her fairy godfather started talking.

She told him about her date with the guy she always like; the reason why the fairy is with her. At first, their conversation went smoothly but went out of line. He mocked the guy, bringing a frown to her face.

“What’s good about it anyway?” he said with a smirk. His eyes, the color of almond, showed arrogance. With a finely chiseled face like his, it’s hard not to drool but somehow she succeeded. “He just takes you to dates but did he ever talk about having a relationship?”

“What do you know about relationships, Snyde?” she snapped. “Or have you ever been in one to talk like that.”

The fairy did not respond instead he shrugged. He turned his back on her and began fumbling her pile of stuff animals. Even in normal human clothes, he managed to make it look beyond average. His caramel-colored hair was in a mess but he still pulled it off as if it’s meant to be that way. Silence enveloped them and took a while before she spoke again.

“Have you?”

The Sweet Thing

“Nathan. . . you actually came!”

She’s drunk again. This always happen in every break-up she went through and today is the second time in one month. And most probably more in the future. She doesn’t learn.

“She won’t stop drinking, even my threatening didn’t work on her,” Erine said nonchalantly, playing with her glass of vodka. She’s the eldest and it’s a surprise Luna didn’t listen to her. I bet it’s the alcohol going in her brain.

“She wasn’t even crying when she called me earlier,” Lea muttered in between hiccups. “Then she wouldn’t stop drinking.”

“Nathan…” Luna purred. It’s really out of character for her to purr and it makes my hair stand on its ends. She grabs a cupcake and saunters to me swaying. Everyone just eyed her, curious of what she’ll do. “Say ahh…”

I stared wide-eyed at the cupcake just inches from my mouth. I’ve never seen her like this before. Though I don’t like seeing her cry, it’s much better than seeing her all weird because of drinking too much. “You’re drunk, Luna.”

She frowned. To my surprise, she threw the sweet thing at my face, jumped back on the loveseat and started bawling. “Nathan is mad at me. He hates me!”

Last Song for Tonight

I waited in line, sweats trickling down my face despite the cold wind blowing. I should have been lying on my bed tonight with my chocolate double-dutch ice cream and watching those movies I rented. I should be doing that instead of tiring myself here. Jane better give me a very good reward.

“Hey, watch it!”

“You watch it!”

I’ve been waiting here for several hours and there have been pushing and pushing going on. Don’t they know anything about patience? And what’s so great with this JC that they could go wild like this. I don’t even know the guy!

After that entire ruckus outside, I finally got inside the concert dome. Jane sure is good with this; she got herself a seat near the stage where she could drool all over him. I just need to get 31 pictures of him and get the hell out of here. Thirty-one pictures and all of this are done.
